And these are some recommendations in case you haven't recorded your programme yet
Needed elements:
- Technical script
- Camcorder
- Tripod
- Computer with application for video edition
Recommended elements:
- External microphone (particularly useful in interviews).
- 2 to 3 lights (ambient and background lights)
Advices for shooting:
- Start with a long shot of the scene
- Use mid shots to identify the object to be recorded.
- Use any shots you want afterwards.
- Do not use too long takes.
Recommendations for recording:
- Follow the technical script.
- Read the camcorder manual previously in order to take the most of its possibilities.
- Leave free space around the people and important items; don't trim parts of them.
- Use an external microphone to add sound special effects.
- Record more than needed because usually only 1/3 is useful for production.
To be considered in relation to the camcorder:
- Do not record against the light if possible
- The horizon line above or below the main image, never at medium height.
- Try always to have the main image more lightened than the background.
- Be careful with the noises around (road works, planes, traffic)
Recommendations for the edition:
- Follow the technical script: the structure of the film: introduction, body and conclusion.
- Do not use too many transitions.
- Special care with the music you use in the background: it mustn't hide the main voice.
